Nurse Team
The Nurses offer a full range of nursing appointments including smears, ear syringing travel health and child immunisations.

Carol Mercer is Clinical Manager. She has also had significant experience as an A &E sister and has an acute illness clinic.

Gill Hammond has been with the surgery since 1988 and a nurse practitioner since 2000. She had previously been a Sister in A&E and trained as a District Nurse. She is currently developing diabetes services. Gill holds daily acute illness clinics.

Liz Thomas qualified as a nurse in 1986 at St Georges in Tooting. She has extensive experience in asthma and COPD and also runs a nurse practitioner clinic.

Judy Saunders. Trained at UCH with Gill. She has been part of our team for almost 5 years

Karen Mustoe - Karen is a very experienced Practice Nurse and Nurse Practitioner who joined us in February 07.

Reception
Our team of receptionists are available during opening hours for booking appointments and general enquiries.

Phlebotomists.
A daily clinic is held for patient’s requiring blood tests. Please book through reception. Enquire if you are unsure whether or not your doctor wants you to fast.

Dispensing
The surgery dispenses prescriptions to all of our patients who live more than a mile from a pharmacy. The Edlesborough Surgery has a commercial pharmacy on site. Which will dispense any NHS or private prescription.


Attached Staff

Community nurses and Health Visitors are based at our Pitstone Surgery.

Health Visitors run weekly clinics to coincide with our regular immunisation clinics which are held on Tuesdays between 2-3pm at Edlesborough and 10.30 to 11.30 at Pitstone. Contact number 01296 663784

Speech therapists and a physiotherapist also hold sessions within the practice.

A community midwife cares for women during and after pregnancy and holds antenatal clinics in both surgeries.
