Booking

Appointments can be booked either by calling the surgery, using the NHS app NHS.uk app or online if you are registered for online access (see link to the right).

In general our doctors prefer to look after their own group of patients so that they can provide continuity of care. Recently we have contacted all patients advising them of their named GP, if you wish to confirm this please contact the surgery.

Routine doctors appointments are also bookable online.

Just a note to let you know the service our teams are offering.

In the last 4 weeks we have had 3290 appointments – that’s 385 appointments for every thousand patients!

Of these 2263 were face to face (265/1000) with 1090 appointments being same day booked.

Disappointingly the “did not attend” rate is creeping up and 86 appointments were missed in that 4 week period to the 28th September.


The appointment figures will be even higher for the next 4 weeks reporting as the team are really busy offering flu and Covid immunisations.

Coming into winter, we are expecting an increase in patients experiencing respiratory symptoms. We would highly recommend you have simple remedies at home from your pharmacy.

However if you feel that you are unable to manage your symptoms at home our preference is to see you at the surgery following an initial phone consultation.

We can only see you face to face if you have had a current negative PCR test. Lateral flow tests do not count. Patients who have not been for a PCR test will be referred to the respiratory centre at High Wycombe hospital. This is necessary to avoid further Covid-19 infections within our staff and allows our small team to keep seeing patients.

If you need to be seen urgently (the same day) we will endeavour to book you into an acute appointment. These will be offered strictly in time order and across both sites, we are not able to offer  afternoon/evening emergency appointment times in the mornings. Our expectation is you will prioritise your request for an emergency appointment over other commitments.

Our receptionists have been instructed to ask you questions to ensure they book you into an appropriate appointment, however if you would rather not discuss your condition with them please just let them know. Appointments will initially be by phone.

Non-urgent advice: Notice

All doctors have pre bookable appointments. Please be aware that these are allocated 10 minutes. Your doctor will attempt to answer all of your queries in this time. However, they may ask you to book a further appointment, if necessary.

Our doctors will endeavour to keep to their schedules, however occasionally unforeseen delays may occur and we apologise and ask for your understanding at these times.

Extended Access

Our GPs also do extended hours surgeries early mornings late evenings and some Saturday mornings. If you would like one of these appointments please ask at reception.

You can also speak to a doctor or nurse on the telephone – reception can book these slots for you.

Nurses and phlebotomists also have a range of pre bookable appointments. 

If you need to be seen urgently (the same day) you will usually be offered an appointment with one of our experienced nurse practitioners. These will be offered strictly in time order, we are not able to offer afternoon/evening emergency appointment times in the mornings.

Disabled Access

Most consulting rooms are downstairs. If you are booking a blood test please let us know if stairs are a problem for you.

Cancellations and Running Late

If you cannot attend, or are delayed for an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else and provide you with a new appointment.
