Dr Heather White

Bio
I trained at Brighton and Sussex Medical school, graduating in 2008. I moved to Tring in January 2013 and I completed my GP training on the Buckinghamshire training scheme in July 2013. I joined the practice in August 2013 and became a partner in August 2014.
My special interest is Dermatology and Minor surgery. I worked for 4 years in the dermatology department at Luton and Dunstable hospital – performing skin cancer surgeries.
I am a GP trainer and am responsible for the GP registrars that we accommodate from the Milton Keynes GP training scheme.
I am safeguarding lead at the practice, having monthly contact with health visitors.
I work full time in both Edlesborough & Pitstone village surgery.
Dr Lee Mitchell

Bio
I was born and raised locally in Leighton Buzzard. I attended Medical School in Devon spending time both in Exeter and Plymouth and graduated with Distinction.
I completed my hospital training in Bedfordshire before undergoing my GP training in Luton and Edlesborough.
I have since completed my GP training and has been working at Edlesborough Surgery since December 2017.
I am also fully trained in Minor Skin Surgery and have undergone further Specialist training in this field at the University of Hertfordshire. I also perform joint injections.
I work full time in both Edlesborough and Pitstone surgeries.
Dr Kirsten Riemer

I graduated from University of Cape Town, South Africa in December 2001 and joined the practice in October 2009.
I moved to the UK in June 2004. I have a special interest in Women’s Health.
I work two days a week in both Edlesborough and Pitstone Surgeries.

Dr Arif will be working Mondays and Thursday and job sharing with Dr Riemer. They share special interest in women’s health and reproductive health.

Our Nursing Team
Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings.
The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears.

Gill has been with the surgery since 1988 and a nurse practitioner since 2000. She had previously been a Sister in A&E and trained as a district nurse. She is our diabetes specialist nurse.
Gill holds daily acute illness clinics.

Graham started with us in January 2023 from a non NHS background- his focus will be the business aspects of running the practice. He is also our complaints lead.

Vicki is our Clinical manager and heads up the Nursing team. She also runs a nurse practitioner clinic as well as the managing respiratory patients and those with high blood pressure and Anticoagulation clinic.

Receptionists provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query.
Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses.
They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries, dealing with financial claims, dealing with patient records and carrying out searches and practice audits.

Health Visitors
A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing.
Immunisation clinics are held at Edlesborough Surgery each Tuesday between 14:00 – 15:00 and at Pitstone Surgery every Tuesday morning between 10:30 and 11:00. No booking is necessary.
The last Health Visitor clinic will be held at Edlesborough on February 7th after which there will no longer be a Health Visitor clinic held at Edlesborough on a Tuesday and these will now be held at The Child Health Clinic on Thursdays, 9:30 to 11:00 at Ivinghoe Children’s Centre, Brookmead School, High Street, Ivinghoe, Buckinghamshire LU7 9EX.

Community Midwife
